Now that the concrete foundation is cured and the wood forms are removed- it’s time to begin vertical construction of your new custom home! This is where things really begin to take shape!
Concrete Block Home Building
Nearly every home that we build incorporates concrete block construction on the first floor and a second floor with wood framing, flooring and roof trussing. Concrete block is one of the most popular methods of constructing a home, especially in Florida. And for good reason. It is naturally resistant to termites and pests, has the strength to withstand extreme temperatures and destructive winds, and is an excellent noise insulator. In fact, out of the dozens of homes we have built in the last few years - not a single home sustained any structural or cosmetic damage from the last series of hurricanes that our area experienced.
Precast Concrete Block Construction
Precast concrete block construction may also incorporate architectural elements made from durable concrete into decorative moldings, finials, pillars and balusters that help define the style of your custom home.
Then, entry archways, window and door surrounds, trim and cornices round-out the custom exterior of many of the homes we build. These beautiful focal features are then colored, textured or finished to match your specific exterior design theme.
The concrete block construction is finished off with wood framing to give the home more flexibility in the final finish of entry areas, bay windows and other custom exterior features.
