Now that you have found the perfect buildable lot for your dream home, it's time to stake your claim to the land and prepare the site for its foundation. When you select RGS as your custom home builder, we will take care of all required site preparation work which includes clearing the land of any brush and trees and the necessary grooming to accommodate the home and surrounding lawn on the property.
Incorporating Natural Surroundings
You may choose to leave some trees or areas of the property in its natural habitat if space allows. However, if part of your property is designated a wetlands conservation area, you will be required to leave those areas in its natural state.
Public Utilities Access
We will bring in soil to create the proper drainage on your lot and for your septic fields (if there is no access to public utilities). Any connections to available city sewer and/or water needs to be provided in your site plan.
Site Grading For Custom Home Site
There is a difference between site preparation and grading. Not all custom home builders will grade the site. This is evident when a builder does not add the correct amount of material to properly grade the slope and the home looks like it’s built on a mound of soil.
To ensure your home is well planned and aesthetically pleasing, RGS includes grading when preparing the build site. The actual home site will be compacted to the degree necessary to properly accommodate the home. Also, the entire graded area that slopes away from the home needs to incorporate any septic fields to the degree that integrates them into the finished grade.
